I got another Gooooooousto box lol. But first, I came up with a Jimmy Carr style joke. You have to imagine it in his voice:

Indonesian Chicken Rendang

If you're after a Korma but want a bit more a kick, this is a good option. It starts out with the chicken, basmati rice and coconut stock but adds in a ton of edgier ingredients that I didn't think would blend together, but sorta did. These include chipotle paste, fish sauce and cardomom pods. The fish sauce was oily and smelled of fish, so I assumed it came from fish that than was intended for it. I also noted that boiling green beans in with the basmati rice stopped it from going too dry / solid, or maybe that was a coincidence. Either way, it was nice.

Nutty Goats' Cheese Salad

Ah, cheese of the goat (the recipe and the ingredient disagree where the apostrophe should go). Rolled in chopped dates and mixed seeds and added to slow roasted slices of sweet potato and red onion. The world (well, Gousto) is trying hard to convince me that salads are redeemable, and is succeeding.

Chorizo and Cherry Tomato Risotto

This is a fine risotto but not as good as the capsicumtastic one from a while back. Also it says to put chopped up thyme in, but the stalks of thyme remain inedible even after half an hour of cooking, so it would be better to strip the leafy bits off the stalks and discard the stalks.

Creamy Chicken and Parsnip Gratin

I wasn't sure what a gratin was, but this is a sort of shallow pie. You mix chicken and parsnip with a creamy sauce and bake it topped with a breadcrumb / cheese mixture. It was nice enough and the addition of rosemary helped.

Overall, a decent batch.
